What if I Miss the Deadline to Submit?

You’re welcome to show up weekend of the event and come out and have fun with costumes, hoops, kites, games, and even your puppy, so long as he’s on a leash.  In fact, we encourage all sorts of unplanned participation, since it’s really all about building community! However, since we have already confirmed our permit from the National Park Service, and we’d like to stay on their good side, projects that were not formally accepted may not include:

  • Shade structures
  • Electricity or Water
  • Stage access
  • Food, drink, or alcohol to give away or sell
  • Hanging items from trees (not allowed) or attaching items to park infrastructure (also not allowed)
  • Lengthy set-up time (more than 30 minutes)
  • Special transport requirements for set-up or take-down

You will be welcome to show up for set-up on Saturday and/or Sunday between 8am and 11am, and must plan to breakdown your art completely each day by 7pm.  All artists are responsible for all of their own trash, and should plan accordingly to carry their trash off site with them.  Each artist must check in at the Volunteer HQ to sign a waiver and discuss their placement.  If you have any questions, please review our Submit a Project page for further details and to get a feel for what we’re looking for. We look forward to seeing you at FIGMENT!
